Physical Education

The Arcadia school boasts state of the art, brand new facilities accessible for all our students during their physical education lessons. Students across all age groups will work to improve their sporting abilities through a curriculum based around the development of physical literacy, sporting knowledge, Health and fitness, along with a strong foundation built around strength and conditioning. We aim to embed the 4c’s of learning skills into our pe-teaching as do the rest of Arcadia school in their teaching and learning.

Students will learn to develop their skill set across a range of sports and will have access to our 3g pitch, indoor and outdoor netball and basketball courts, 25m 6-lane swimming pool, as well as our brand-new climbing wall facility.

Our students will follow an extensive curriculum designed around physical literacy and the importance of being a holistic student from KS1 up to entering their GCSE years.

Year 10 and 12 students will study IGSCE PE, using the EDEXCEL specification, here they will be graded both on practical application across multiple sports and their knowledge towards physical education as a subject.

Outdoor education will take a huge role in our department as we develop our students from using the climbing wall, orienteering on-site, Arcadia ski-club to residential trips both here in the UAE and abroad.

Our expanding department has experience of competing at an international and national level across a variety of sports and have extensive experience in teaching physical education both in the UK and UAE. Even some of our class
teachers have national experience and deliver sessions!
